Puerto Princesa in Film

I remember the day we booked our tickets for this trip as if it had just happened. It was a rainy December afternoon and I was stuck in traffic with Ralf. I was mindlessly scrolling through my emails when I came across PAL’s announcement for their annual holiday seat sale. I scrambled to sit upright on my seat. I clicked the link and checked our dates for our Palawan trip. Our roundtrip airfare only cost P1600 inclusive of taxes! I opened our Telegram group chat immediately and typed with the speed of light.

“GUYS. ETO NA. SEND ME YOUR DETAILS.”

One by one, the personal details started pouring in. Prior to this, I had never booked a flight through PAL’s mobile website so it was a bit of a challenge since there were 5 tickets in total that I had to buy and not mess up any information. I read it again once, then twice, and one final time before I hit the PURCHASE button. A familiar email ringtone later and I had it: the tickets to our first high school barkada trip together (ever).

Manggapuri Villas/Christmas 2015 in film

000037

My family has always been on the quirky side; it’s very rare when we’re actually all together in the same place at the same time and last Christmas was no different. We were missing my older sister and her family but despite this, my dad really wanted us to get away from the city (Bacolod is nothing compared to Manila in terms of what a “city” is (it’s so much better, I promise you)) and have some family time together. So on the 26th, we climbed into our family cars and drove up to Manggapuri Villas in Don Salvador Benedicto.

Zenit 122 At Home

Taking a break from Grad show preparations (2 weeks left!!) and decided to start this morning easy with a new blog post. Last January, I met up with Laurence of thecdsource and bought their second hand Zenit 122. Because I am sooo smart (sarcasm) I decided to delve in to the wonderful world of Soviet cameras without any prior knowledge (but I did some light research on the topic). There were a few differences from my Canon FTB but it’s still an SLR so it wasn’t too foreign. After much research and two test rolls (this photo set being the second), I learned that the Zenit is a mighty, sturdy camera (I actually dropped it on the sidewalk huhuhu) that takes great macro pictures and is known for it’s fantastic bokeh effect. One of my projects in the future is to shoot a whole roll of macro shots with this baby.

For now please enjoy these photo series of my pets at home 🙂
