Happy birthday Jamie!

I know you hate selfies but as I was preparing this post, I thought that posting these old selfies you took 2 years ago would make it extra special. I know you hate them but remember when you thought that the lighting was perfect and the wind effect just made everything extra glorious that day? These photos sat quietly in your computer for 24 months; it’s time to share them with the world wide web.

The short “poem” I wrote for you this morning is more like a reminder that YOU ARE PERFECT THE WAY YOU ARE. Yeah, you work shitty jobs and barely make ends meet and you’re still trying to lose the 2o pounds you’ve gained in 2015 and you’re still unsure whether the best plan of action is to leave the country or pack up and go home… but hey, you’re still here. You’ve done so much over the past year. 23 was not bad, not bad at all. And I’m proud of you and the person you’ve grown to be. Thank you for plowing through and for always doing what’s best for us.

Even when things get hard, you’ll always have me and we’ll always work together to achieve whatever you set your mind to. Your spark will never ever ever die out so long as I am here to keep it aflame.

I love you, I love you. No one will ever love you as much as I do. And if ever you forget why, here’s the youtube video of the TedTalk by Tracy McMillan we watched last week. A gentle reminder that even if it’s just you and me in the end, we’re still going to be happy.
