Day 19/366 thoughts

She’s right, of course. Every word is true.

It’s just not the whole truth. She doesn’t mention how you looked at me in the lunchroom that first day. Or how you blushed when your best friend, Kevin, said, “Why him?” and I tweaked your earlobe and replied, “Because he’s cute.” Or how nice you were to my rat even though you were terrified. Or how proud you were of me when I won the speech contest in Phoenix. Or how-I don’t know, how do you explain it?-how we just fit together.

Ok, so you’re not perfect. Who is?

Sure, Susan makes sense. But my heart doesn’t care about sense. My heart never says” Why? Only: Who?

Laguna

It’s become a tradition for me to head over to Los Baños every October for Angela’s birthday. Last year was the first time that my high school friends (minus Louise, Mae Ann and Pauline) reunited for the said trip. We planned months ahead and on Angela’s birthday weekend, piled into Anna’s van and traveled to Laguna.

We only stayed over night but we’re definitely thinking of going back in the future. The farm of Tita Kim was so picturesque, it was hard to put down the Zenit. This photo set doesn’t include alot of events but it captures exactly how the weekend went: a quiet and much needed getaway from busy Manila.

People watching at NAIA 2

I love people watching. A few years back, I used to do this thing where I make commentary on whatever I see at the airport and make snarky posts about it on Twitter. That was when the system of NAIA was extra shitty (but as if that’s gotten any better today) and there wasn’t much to do except post tweets on my airport adventures.

Lately, I don’t do that anymore because I decided that I should be a respectable adult (lol) that does adult things like read a book or take a nap while waiting for my flight. 2015 was not a travel-themed year and so I only left Manila twice (new world record). The first of the two being when I had to go home for my great grandmother’s 100th birthday celebration (mid-July 2015).

I call this “Adult things to do at NAIA 2”

Day 4/366 thoughts

In 2015, I struggled with finding a creative outlet to keep me sane while I worked my dreary day job. I tried joining an online art class and started a sketch-a-day project (among other creative projects) and, surprise surprise, I wasn’t able to stick to any of them.

So this year, I’ve decided to “try” and rekindle my high school love for writing. I used to write for the school newspaper (only features because I can’t for the life of me, write anything news related) and kept journal since the first grade so maybe MAYBE this’ll stick for the whole of 2016.

The rules are simple. Just keep piecing together words until I see something post-worthy. There is no limit to my posts nor is there a required amount of posts. Just. keep. creating.
