The last time I saw you, we just split in two

You were looking at me, I was looking at you

Favorite photo paired with my favorite lines from the original “The Origin of Love” from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I have no words to express how moved I was by this song and how much it contributed to my graduation collection.

Thank you thank you thank you

Zenit 122 At Home

Taking a break from Grad show preparations (2 weeks left!!) and decided to start this morning easy with a new blog post. Last January, I met up with Laurence of thecdsource and bought their second hand Zenit 122. Because I am sooo smart (sarcasm) I decided to delve in to the wonderful world of Soviet cameras without any prior knowledge (but I did some light research on the topic). There were a few differences from my Canon FTB but it’s still an SLR so it wasn’t too foreign. After much research and two test rolls (this photo set being the second), I learned that the Zenit is a mighty, sturdy camera (I actually dropped it on the sidewalk huhuhu) that takes great macro pictures and is known for it’s fantastic bokeh effect. One of my projects in the future is to shoot a whole roll of macro shots with this baby.

For now please enjoy these photo series of my pets at home 🙂

The Origin of Love: My Graduation Collection

As much as I want to start describing every single detail about my collection, time will not permit me since I have to finish the actual garments first. So instead, I will leave you with a Youtube video of the story that started it all. I guess you can say that it’s a teaser of what is to come. Right after Grad show I promise to start posting my design process, the ups, the downs, and best of all, the actual show (which is already 2 weeks away from now !!).

Enjoy the video!
